How many flower visits must honeybees make to produce 1 pound of honey?

It takes about 2 million flower visits by honeybees to produce 1 pound of honey.

Interesting fact I must say!!! I thought about it when I was having my nightly cup of tea. I sometimes put a little honey in if I have a sweet tooth. Much better than having a slab of chocolate cake before bed though. I hope everyone’s fat Tuesday went well. I had two pieces of king cake at work to celebrate myself, it was on tonight’s buffet in the golf Club. Now back to the tea…did you know

Olympic Withdrawl….

Life goes on.. back to the hum drum of daily life. But that’s okay, I need a break anyway!
I have no excuse for staying up super late, and watching the boob tube. Betwee, the wedding and the olympics I am plum tuckered out. Work was the usual kind of busy slightly chaotic kind of day. I do have to report the Newly married Nichols have returned from there honeymoon Sunday night, tan and well rested. Greg and I waited for them holding one of those signs saying Nichols party of 2, just like there personal limo driver could. They definitely got a big kick out of it. We got them home about midnight with there cars done up with the traditional just married shoe polish paint job. They seemed to like it, too! Thank goodness it has not rained so they can enjoy it for a few days or so. Dropped them and there luggage off and headed home so we could catch some of the rebroadcast of the closing ceremonies. So that’s the news for now!!!

…Olympics….it’s almost over…

Day 16 is here and it is the final day of the Winter Games. The Torch will soon be extinguished and all will be done. I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it. I love to see the pride that these amazing athletes have for their country and there sport. My husband just told me I need to join the O. T. W. A. A. , he said it is the Olympic Television Watching Addicts Association. HaHaHA…. I also just found out that there’s an Official Team USA Fan Club…I think I should check it out…

Today for the first time I watched women’s biathlon, wow it’s really pretty cool. I have to say I learned a lot about speed skating, and Greg likes ice dancing, and his most favorite is still curling…. I wonder if they will reduce the price of Olympic apparel since it’s almost over…hmmm???I wonder… Soon enough… summer 2008 we will meet again in Beijing…

See you at the closing ceremonies… I have to tape it because I have to work…I can’t call in sick for that can I??? No hookey for me.. I”ll be good…
* National Chocolate Covered Peanuts Day*
And
St. Walburga's Day, patron of crops.
I luv chocolate covered peanuts...I think the last time I had some it was during the holidays. I might have to celebrate by eating a reeses peanut butter cup. It sounds nice but i will probaly forget...by mid afternoon. Do you know how many peanuts does it take to make a 12 ounce jar of creamy peanut butter? It takes about 550 peanuts to make a 12 ounce jar of creamy peanut butter.
wow thats a lot!!!
On a colder note...
Only 2 more days left of the Winter Games. I must say I have really enjoyed it. I have been keeping up the best I can, I still have to go to work... I shodld have taken my vacation. Then i could have seen it all. Non stop action...And now were only one medal behind Germany... USA>>>USA>>>USA!!! Must go to bed soon or i'll never get out of bed... must turn off the tv...

TK's ...in the house or should I say in the kitchen...

I am referring to the the famous chef Thomas Keller. I walked in to my kitchen at work and there were a group of chefs preparing food. I asked my co-worker, who are those guys and she told me they were Thomas Keller's staff, getting ready for a private dinner, at a local home. Talk about paying some buckoo bucks. It is always fun and interesting to spend time with great American Chefs, learn something perhaps? Or just shoot the breeze....They were very happy to partake in some of our nice weather. They came down from New York where the weather has been quit nasty. I am a fan of TK's food because he believes in simple food done with super flavor, and lots of passion for it. If you want to know more about him, check out this link... Thomas Keller. He's in my opinion one of a America's great Chefs, Maybe I'll get to meet him tomorrow!!

It’s official …. Mr. and Mrs. Nichols

As of Sat afternoon Karen and Joe got hitched. It’s been an exciting weekend with lots of family, friends, and celebration. Thursday afternoon the meet and greet started as relatives started to check into the hotel. Every time I turned around some out of towners were stopping by my parents suite ( or I like to call it wedding central). The K-C’s started off Friday morning by sharing a cup of coffee with our good buddy Dawn who also made the wedding cake. Rehearsal at the church then onto the rehearsal dinner. Sat the ceremony was beautiful, there we smiles and tears of joy throughout the church. The reception was on hell of a great party to and it seemed to roll right into Sun. Thanks to all that could make it and show your support and love. Most of you already know about the wedding website that my Dad put together so chek it ot by clicking on the highlighted text above , check it out it is awesome. There will be more pictures to come as pictures are ready. The blogg is back in action full time…

… The Official Wedding Countdown has begun….

Today is 1st that means by the time you all are reading this there’s only 17 days counting today….

So here’s what I have been up to!!!! Eating lots of salad so I can breathe in my purtty bridesmaids dress. That’s right no cookies for me. I have to say I like salad and all but the cookies are so yummy. There’s nothing worse than walking by the pastry kitchen and smelling those wonderful goodies and not partaking in them….oh well. I think I can manage….I have to say I’m very excited, it’s much more fun to be on the outside of a wedding instead of being on the inside. I mean in my business we do weddings all the time, so I have seen it all. But it’s not as much fun when you are working. But I do try to taste each wedding cake that is brought in, so I know who makes the best cakes in town. And believe me they are not all wonderful. I could go on for days about wedding cake stories, maybe I will tell you them sometime….
