If you stop in make sure to grab a sugar biscuit and some hot tea and enjoy. P.s. the if you like a little bit of everything or would like to try it i reccomend the buffet. It's delicious ....

IS IT WITCHES BREW? Of course not it is a pot of delicious split pea soup. Yummy.. i have to thank a buddy of mine Patrick for suggesting I make it for Monday nites dinner. To bad he didn't get to have some, it was super tasty and I made biscuits from scratch to go with it. Maybe witches brew is just spit pea soup after all...just a thought.

Sunday revisited....Hanging out with family watching The Bucs lose again. We all so played games, relaxed and had a good time. This picture is of My Mom and bro-in-law Laszlo while we were playing Yatzee Free for All. Had a tasty dinner of beef stroganoff which was so tasty on a chilly evening in Florida. We finished of the evening with our first strawberry bounce tasting of the season. If you don't know what bounce is...oh you don't I will be glad to fill you in. It is a liqueur made traditionally adding cherries and rock candy to vodka, whiskey, or even brandy. Put in a jar in the dark and shake every so often, stain it three months later. Pop and give it in the freezer the freezer for a few more. Longer you wait the smoother it gets like a fine congac. It was very delicious!!!

Cherry bounce is an all-American drink
Even Martha Washington enjoyed a sip of cherry bounce or two.
Louisianans aren't the only ones turning the summer cherry harvest into bottles of bounce. The homemade cordial is as American as apple pie.
Even Martha Washington brewed her own version for special occasions. The very first First Lady had a recipe that called for 20 pounds of cherries, 10 quarts of cognac, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and a pint of crushed cherry stones.

Fall has arrived..that's right even here in Florida. This is a picture of my hubby Greg taking an after dinner nap under an afghan. He was up very early(before dawn) to fish with bro-law Laszlo at Ft. Desoto. They said the weather was great... a little on the windy side, they even said they had cool feet. Best way could warm there feet was to put them into the water. Water temp. was around 84 degrees. Happy fall!!! They caught a ton of fish.. none that were big enough to keep, but they had a great time! My sister Sarah and I were painting her kitchen.. and contemplating the next part..some excellent wallpaper. She's just not sure which one. But it went very quick.. were pretty good at it. Then it was grilled pork chops 4 dinner and a little Cab. to drink. AHHH.. yes red wine season has offically come our way..Yah!

The Tour Continues.. The Mom and Pop Restaurant Tour of Pinellas. Yesterday it was off to the Club House Restaurant in Largo. First impression was good, walking in the door the place was packed. Tip #1 if a resturant is packed the food is usually pretty good. We sat down and our server brought us our menu and it had plenty to chose from even offering breakfast all day. I had a cup of split pea soup (yummy) and a good old fashioned half of chicken salad sandwich. Mom had a chunky chicken salad an crossant (chunky refers to grpes and pecans and other goodies). So for 17 bucks you can get 1.5 nice sized sandwichs, cup of soup, 2 sides, and 2 bottomless cups of very fresh icetea. We give it 2 thumbs up!!! If you need a quick tasty meal and your in the bardmoor area check them.. Support your local restaurants they need us and we need them!

Life in Trasition...

Sometimes I can’t wait for certain things to start. Sometimes I wish that certain things would never end. Sometimes I wish that certain things would hurry up and end!

I am finally beginning to realize that I always look to the next event in my life. Which leaves me little time to enjoy the moment. In the midst of transition it is best to sit back and enjoy the ride. Our entire lives experience is a transition! Why get caught up in feeling that we must have control, or that we must hurry to the next experience, or that because there is transition we will be uncomfortable.

We can either decide to worry or we can be exhilarated! I’ll take exhilarated, although I will say that learning to do that is definitely a practice.

I am putting this into practice by learning to be okay with what is, and by shedding unhelpful beliefs that transition is somehow a negative experience. I imagine myself on that tightrope and I let out a big woohoo!! I always have a choice in the way I think and feel and I love the reminder to enjoy the transitions that make my life what it is.

while jotting down my thoughts.. i was surfing the net and i came across these bits of wisdom:

*Embrace the exciting newness of it all.

*Beginning something new is a rebirth of who we are.

*Transition is all about perspective. What perspective will you choose?

*Fly with it! Take it on and soar!

*Be in the joyful giddiness of change.

*When you speak or think of change, say to yourself and others that things are getting better and better.

*Expect that things will be better than you could have ever imagined.

The point that speaks to me the most is the one that says “Beginning something new is a rebirth of who we are.” For me, this piece of wisdom exemplifies that we are always moving forward and always growing. I love the possibilities in that statement. I move forward with the power of the Universe with me, as do you.
