Great Art!
In May, backhoe contractor and part-time sculptor Ricky Pearce created a 17-foot-high, 40-ton concrete figure of the legs of a reclining woman in a grassy lot between two churches in a quiet neighborhood in Henderson, N.C. The legs, bent at the knees, noticeably parted, and accompanied by landscaped foliage "strategically placed" (according to a report from WNCN-TV in Raleigh), are supposedly in tribute to Marilyn Monroe. Asked one neighbor, "Why do they (sic) just show the legs?" [WNCN-TV (Raleigh, N.C.), 5-11-05]

In May, at the annual spring auction at Christie's in New York City, Massachusetts artist Tom Friedman managed to sell a piece consisting of an ink squiggle on a 12-by-18-inch piece of white paper (described in the Christie's catalog as "starting an old dry pen on a piece of paper"). It was sold for $26,400, according to a Washington Post report. Friedman was less successful in offering a 2-foot white cube that contained, on one surface, a tiny speck of his own feces, for which he expected an opening bid of $45,000, but got no takers. [Washington Post, 5-19-05]

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT THAT IS PRETTY BIZARRE IF YOU ASK ME....SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAVE A LITTLE TO MUCH TIME ON THERE HANDS!!!

DO THE DEW….

My favorite soda or as some say pop has always been mountain dew. I don’t drink it as much as I want to, or would like to. It’s not good for me so it’s only for special times or when I need a serious kick in the toockus. Though I must admit that diet dew is not to bad, not the same though.
But are you aware of the long history of the almighty dew. It been around a lot longer than you think, and here’s a little history for you...

The rumors are true. Mountain Dew was born way back in the hills of Tennessee in the 1940s. The name Mountain Dew was first trademarked by two brothers, Barney and Ally Hartman, who ran a bottling plant in Knoxville. The Hartman’s Mountain Dew, however, was a lemon-lime drink used as a mixer with whiskey.

And I you want to know more and wish to pay homage…please visit the ever so cool website: mountaindew.com Man after looking at the web page I really am thirsty for a dew….

Moving...Yuck!!!

Well in a couple of months we are moving. i hate it, it's always so much work. I like living in a new place, we can change stuff around, that's always fun! The hard part this time is that we are going from a very large place to somewhere that's quit a bit smaller. I guess we will have to get rid of some stuff. All i have to say about that...have you been in our bedroom closet lately? It's kinda scary. #1 it's very big and it is very full. I excercise caution when entering...it's like the bermuda triange a bit!!! The funny part about that it's not an exageration...really i'm serious. the apartment complex that we live in is doing a lot of renovations... if we could get them to pull up a dumpster...right below the balcony...??? That a great idea...stay tuned for more excitement!!!!! The world according to the k-c's is about to explode!!!!!

hello all !!!

I hope your tuning in.... I hope you didn't forget about our little blog?

Today at work one of the women i work with asked me how i new the words to so many songs. We listen to the radio as we prep food every afternoon. I thought about it for a sec. .... It funny how i forget so many important things but the silly things are right at the tip of my tongue.

The earth may spin faster on its axis due to deforestation. Just as a figure skater's rate of spin increases when the arms are brought in close to the body, the cutting of tall trees may cause our planet to spin dangerously fast... I think that's a pretty good theory... Don't U? or how ,bout this folks... Laura's law: You can't fall off the floor. I can hear you saying hmmmmm. An I respect that totally.

Well it's time for me to make with the zzzz's...

Were back from our little hiatus... from our little blog...!!!

Hopefully you all didn't forget about us????
Here's a little info on one of our families favorite candy...

Topic of the day....did you know???

When were "M&M's"® Chocolate Candies introduced?

"M&M's"® Plain Chocolate Candies were first introduced to the general public in 1941 and the candies earned a solid reputation from American GIs serving in World War II who first enjoyed the candies in their food rations. "M&M's"® Plain Chocolate Candies were an excellent choice for the military since they were a convenient snack that traveled well in any climate and were packaged in paper tubes. The packaging changed from a paper tube to the characteristic brown packaging known today. In the summer of 2000 it was decided that "M&M's"® Plain Chocolate Candies were too good to be called "Plain" and therefore the packaging name was changed to "M&M's"® Milk Chocolate Candies.

They are simply delicious....it's amazing how such a simple candy...is so good!!
How many "M&M's"® are consumed and produced each day?

As you can imagine, there are millions of "M&M's"® Chocolate Candies made every day as well as consumed by our valued consumers. There are over 400 million produced each day and "M&M's"® Chocolate Candies are made all over the world, however, in the U.S. they are made in New Jersey and Tennessee.

Here's another thought... I wonder how much of thoughs, are consumed by my family????

....I was skimming some articles online...

WEEK OF APRIL 3, 2005
LEAD STORY
Defensive back Randall Gay wore a New England Patriots jersey as a member of this year's Super Bowl-winning team, but when one of his former college professors tried to order a personalized jersey in tribute to Gay in mid-February, she was turned down. The National Football League's official online merchandiser, NFLshop.com, refused to imprint "Gay" on the back of a Patriots jersey because it was a "naughty" word, one of 1,159 the shop has banned. (Two weeks later, after the Web site Outsports.com picked up the story, the word was removed from the list.) [Times-Picayune (New Orleans), 3-3-05]

Can you believe in this day and age???? It's the dudes name...

Too much work,
and no vacation,
Deserves at least a small libation.
So hail! my friends, and raise your glasses;
Work's the curse of the drinking classes.
Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)

Hello all… I made through another rough Holiday. Easter and the the golf tournament just happened to land at the same time. The least they could do is shift the golf tournament, because you can’t move Easter. Well thank goodness it is over, so were in the middle of another lovely week. You are saying middle? That’s right. Were winding up for a busy weekend, pretty much like most weekends. And I am so excited…ok that was a little sarcasm. But enough of that silly talk about work…

A few interesting points….
Sometimes I think I have to much time on my hands..

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. (Hardly seems worth it.)

If you passed gas consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb. (Now that's more like it!)

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet. (O.M.G.!)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour. (Do not try this at home...maybe at work.)

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field. (30 minutes...can you imagine??)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds. (What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day.

Butterflies taste with their feet. (Something I never wanted to know.)

Elephants are the only animal that cannot jump. (OK, so that would be a good thing....)

A cat's urine glows under a black light. (I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. (I know some people like that.)

Starfish have no brains. (I know some people like that too.)

Polar bears are left-handed. (Who knew? Who cares!)

So that my list of useless facts..I hope you enjoyed them!!!!
