Do You Have A Special Chocolate-Addicted Alcoholic In Your Life?

Well, here's some exciting news......now there's a beverage that conveniently combines two vices into one wine bottle for maximum gift-giving ease!

I have to admit that ChocoVine has intrigued me since I saw it while surfing the internet.. late, late, late at one night. Did I say LATE...

Think about it this way...
Nobody else could understand the hush hush forbidden love shared between the flirty cocoa bean and its sultry wine grape lover........a fiery romance like theirs hadn't been seen in the commercial world since that saucy peanut butter hussy started sneaking around late at night with a wayward chocolate bar ..... resulting in Reese's.

I'm not judging...
I predict a huge increase in workplace consumption of "chocolate milk."
I predict a future where police officers will have a head-scratching mystery before them. Are the days of giving out tickets for underage drinking over? Why have teenagers suddenly become so addicted to "chocolate milk?"

Should you spend your last dollar on chocolate or alcohol? Thanks to ChocoVine you'll never have to make this tough choice again.
Thanks ChocoVine! You're clearly ushering in an age of enlightenment never before seen in human history.

How Open To Opportunity Are You?

Your wondering what this Klondike Bar has to do with opportunity? What would you do for it? Or is it here already and you just have to take a big bite?

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Thomas Alva Edison

Is it true that opportunity only knocks once? Or is it more true that opportunity knocks so often, it nearly knocks you down? Are you open to it? Or do you fear that there is never enough, and possibly miss life's generous hand directing you along an unknown and to-be-discovered path?

Luck has been described as the preparedness to meet opportunity. Are you prepared? And what does it mean to be prepared? Events way beyond the control of any of us have meant that we can no longer rely on things being the same as they have always been. Whether we like it or not. most of us are having to adapt. You can be against it, fighting resentfully every step of the way. Or, you can embrace it, maybe it's time to re-evaluate your life's possibilities, and the opportunities that await you.
Has life ever surprised you with an unusual opportunity? Have you ever made a radical change in outlook and expectations to create a better life? If I could wave a magic wand for you, what would you have happen?

Mini Vacation
So Greg and I had a mini vacation down to Naples this week. Friends from Chicago were down, and we decided to visit. We left Monday night after work. And arrived a little after midnight... the party offically started when Patrick meet us at our room for a hello and a quick cocktail. Very tasty and fun!!! After a brief batch of shut eye we meet for breakfast in the lobby, where Patrick introduced us to his sweetheart Matthew. Over our continetal breakfast we chatted... yes I did say breakfast.. I know what you are thinking. Laura actually was up in time for breakfast... yes I was! Then after that Matthew headed out to visit with family.. and Greg, Patrick and I headed out on the town for amusement and tasty food delights of course. We checked out the shops enjoying the lovily sunshine...Patrick was thrilled that it was warm enough to wear a short sleeve polo. We ended up being hungary
and thirsty...so we decided to stop for lunch....that was an intersting experience ...

The Lunch escapade was interesting, the picture is my NY sandwich with sauted onions and cheddar topped with a fried egg. This how the meal went at Sea Salt restaurant, we ored cocktails since we were on vacation. Placed order with the server and waited. All our food came out over cooked and we sent it back to the kitcken, mind you this was not a cheap place to eat. when the plates came back, Patricks Kobe burger was over done again and asked to speak with the manager. the chef appeared at with a plate with 2 rare kobe burbers and was going to start lectureing Patrick. I was going to have no part of this then I let the cat out of the bag about me being a Chef and all of his tone changed... break out the butt kissing routine. Wow!! it was pretty funny if you asked me. We did have to pay for everything.. but we did get a round of premium cocktails on the house! After we walked around some more found a little shop with some delicious deserts and coffee. Yummy!

Dinner later at the Turtle club was very good. I learned that Mattew is from my hometime Ft. Wayne Indiana... small world! We all had a great time! After dinner we went back to our hotel and played Wii. i have to say the Men of Chicago have Game!!! Next morning we went out for a quick breakfast then a little while later we said our goodbyes. Boy we had a great time...to bad it ended so quickly!

What's the "Bigger purpose" of what your doing?
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Do you know the story about the two stone cutters? When asked what he's doing the the first man replies "I'm cutting this stone into bricks." When the second laborer was asked what be was doing he replies" I'm building a temple".

How much do we do in a a day with our nose to the "grindstone"? Focused making a list, checking it twice..done, done, done!

But what have we done. Really?

There is a Big Real behind everything that we do. Sometimes it's a negative Big Real, sometimes it's a positive Big real.

I'm not posting my blog. I'm evoking the truth.

I'm not cleaning my house. I'm making it into a Zen Temple in which I can hear myself think and we can cozy up. (Okay I'm just joking with that one. Vacuuming is vacuuming and it sucks hard. Pun! I know I just caught it) but you get my point.

Whats become predictable and auto pilot for a great dream? or vision or bad plot, we really don't need to participate in.

Working overtime? Maybe your making sure you can take that vacation to the Caribbean?

Hauling your ass out of bed to run? How about; connecting with the power of your body and tapping into your creative being.

Waiting on tables? How about: teaching loving, kindness and nurturing?

Look Up! Zoom back from the tasks and see the holy weaving of our time, and love and action. Make it matter because it does!

Last Night Delicious Dinner!

Last night Greg and I took in dinner in a movie at Sarah and Laszlo's house (sister and bro-in-law). Sarah made a delicious Butternut Squash and white Bean "Bisque" with a yogurt garnish. Bisque usually means cream right, well the white beans were added to replace the cream and the non fat plain yogurt was also added for creaminess and for a little zing. It was delicious and very nutritious. I brought some fresh baked banana muffins that went great with the soup. I definitely would eat that again and again! Just a way to remind people that healthy food is delicious and simple to prepare, and inexpensive Too! Cheers!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO YOU!!! AND MANY MORE...

SO TODAY 11/12 IS MY MOM'S BIRTHDAY... AND WE (GREG AND I) DECIDED WE SHOULD HAVE MY MOM, DAD, SISTER(SARAH) AND BRO-IN-LAW (LASZLO) OVER TO CELEBRATE. MOM SUGGESTED PIZZA... BUT WHO WANTS THAT WHEN YOU CAN GO TO THE BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN!!! MY HOUSE!!!

I'm sure your wonder what we had for our delicious birthday feast..i guess I can give you the menu:

Mom K's Fabou birthday menu:

Appetiser:

Celery Volute, garnished with spicy peanut butter creme fraiche and persimmons (A fancy way of saying soup that is made with a white stock, fish, chicken, vegetable and thickened with a white roux, butter and flour cooked together then added to the stock to thicken. Creme fraiche is the French's' version of sour cream.)

Entree:

Chicken Confit stuffed with fig and chevre over butternut squash flan, sweet pickled red cabbage, granny smith apples, onions. (I bet you are wondering what confit means? It's actually a very ancient cooking method from France used to preserve meat, traditionally it would be salted and cooked very slowly in it's own fat for about 12 hours, then packed in a crock covered in it's cooking fat, which acts as a seal to preserve. Now we cook in olive oil or some sort of veg oil. It is still cooked very slowly and end result is the very moist and flavorful meat that falls apart. Chevre is a Delicious creamy lightly tangy goat cheese.)

Dessert:

Fresh baked Cherry Pie a la mode

It was one delicious event at the best restaurant in town!

Happy birthday Mom!!!

CHEERS!!!!

From Sea to Shining Sea.....

Sunday afternoon Greg and Paul (Greg's Dad) Performed at The Palladium for America Remembers A Veterans Day Tribute. Singing many patriotic songs and even starring "the Andrews Sisters" (of course the are not the orig anal group, but they were great).Greg and Paul have been singing with The SPC Concert Chorus for a few years now and enjoy it quite a bit. All the veterans past and present were saluted and remembered and all enjoyed a patriotic concert.
Here's a small piece of history on The Palladium if you didn't know. The First Church of Christ, Scientist was built in 1925. In 1998 the building was purchased by The Palladium Theatre Company which renovated it while preserving much of the interior, including the 1926 Skinner organ along with the arts and crafts period tile work. In 2007 the Palladium was given to St. Petersburg College with the commitment of operating it as a community theatre, while adding college functions.
